The sentence.

When we write or speak something we use generally these words in a sequence; as, 

This is my bag.
This is mine.
Are you Rohit?
This is cute.

Kinds of sentences:
Sentences have four kinds:
Those are:
1. Those sentences which make statements as;
Dumpty sat on a wall.
2. Those in which we ask questions like;
Where is your notebook?
3. Those which expresses commands, requests, and entreaties like;
Be happy.

Have mercy upon us.

4. Those which express strong feelings like;
How tall are you!
What a shame!


  • Those sentences which make statements or assertions are known as Declarative or Assertive sentences.

  • Those sentences which ask questions are known as Interrogative sentences.

  • Those sentences which expresses a command or an entreaty are known as Imperative sentences.
  • A sentence that expresses strong feeling is called an Exclamatory sentence.
